Hausa community clashes with host community in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Few casualties are recorded, but there is serious tension.

Some of the interviewees in the area expressed their fear of a duplication of the Southern Kaduna crises in Uyo.

“We need heavy security presence there before Southern Kaduna crises duplicates itself in Uyo. Residents of Itiam are scared stiff”. They complained.

Notwithstanding, they blame the government for the poor security situation in the country and raised a few rhetorical questions; “What are our leaders doing? This story is not new. It’s all over the nation yet no one at the top wants to talk or do something about it.”
