As Christians globally celebrate the yuletide to mark the birth of Christ, there is a need to review the contrast between the divine migration and global migration policy. In contemporary times, young people crave to move to the Western world to search for greener pasture. In Jorhan Galthon’s “Social periphery Theory”, the Western world is known as the ‘center nations’ referred to as the industrialized or developed nations while the developing countries are the ‘periphery nations’ or third world countries.

Most African youths take the risk of migrating legally or illegally to several developed nations. The illegal immigrants sometimes travel across the Mediterranean Sea or overland through Southeast Europe in search of better jobs and lives. They sometimes end up dead because of the high level of risk that is involved in the immigration process.

The Christmas season is a period where Christians all over the world decide to mark the birth of Christ. it is worthy of note that the birth of Christ is a contrast of the global immigration policy, thus, as recorded in the Bible, Christ descended from Heaven to Earth from the best to the worst for the salvation of the human race.

Merry Christmas!
